Year 2 HASS My Community Places and People Unit

This 2-week unit explores local communities through exploring important places like schools, libraries, parks and shops, and the people who work and volunteer in them. Students learn to identify and name community places and helpers, understand how places are connected, and draw simple neighbourhood maps with labels. The eight-page resource includes print-and-go worksheets, a neighbourhood walk observation checklist, an interview activity for community helpers, and a final poster project that synthesizes student learning about their local environment.
